Cherish Adoption Support Group Holds Program on Pre-teen/Teenage Adolescence

Coral Gables, FL — (February 16, 2010) – Cherish Adoptive Families of Miami, a support group for individuals and families considering adoption and for parents who have adopted, will hold an educational program entitled “Pre-Teen/Teenage Adolescence for Adopted Children” on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Whole Foods Lifestyle Center, 6701 Red Road, Coral Gables. Meetings are free and open to the public.

Speaker Teri Wunderman, Ph.D., will discuss how to help adopted pre-teens and teenagers enjoy the struggles and successes of adolescence.  Encourage teens to discover who they are, who they are becoming and how their adoption history fits in with how they see themselves. Share ideas and perspectives on parenting with love and patience through the often challenging teen years.
